About your teacher:
With 20 years of experience in creative productions, Azza Satti has cultivated a rich and diverse career in the arts and culture. While pursuing a master’s degree in Art & Public Policy at NYU (Tisch) in 2008, she delved into Paolo Freire’s ‘Pedagogy of the Oppressed’ and Augusto Boal’s ‘Theater of the Oppressed’. This academic journey ignited a passion for using theater as a tool for social change, leading Azza to become a dedicated teaching artist. For five years, Azza taught improv theater to young adults in underserved communities in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, culminating in original improv plays performed on Broadway. Following this rewarding chapter in the U.S., Azza returned home to Nairobi with a mission to grow the creative economy across the continent, continuing to inspire and empower the next generation through the transformative power of creative expression.
