Beginner Sashiko Sewing Workshop

8 February @ 10:30 am - 1:30 pm

Learn the basics of meditative sashiko style stitching, with using stencils, removeable markers and deliciously thick thread. Sashiko (literally “little stabs”) is a form of decorative reinforcement stitching (or functional embroidery) from Japan. Traditional sashiko was used to reinforce points of wear, or to repair worn places or tears with patches. Today this running stitch technique is often used for purely decorative purposes in quilting and embroidery.

All supplies are included to make either a coaster or a small bag.

To confirm, please sign up here and we shall contact you with the payment details. The class fee is 4,500KSH per person and includes all supplies. Amber will have a large collection of stencils for you to borrow – feel free to bring any clothing items or fabrics that you would like to stencil for later projects.
