Art Workshop Series (ages 6-8)

We are excited to offer an after-school art workshop with two age-specific classes:
Tuesdays for children aged 6 to 8 years, and Thursdays for children aged 9 to 12 years.
These workshops will focus on the theme of nature, with each of the four sessions thoughtfully building on the previous one to deepen learning and creative exploration. We’ll explore the wonders of nature through hands-on creative projects inspired by the world around us.
Using natural fibers and plant-based dyes, children will learn to work with organic materials while discovering the textures, colors, and patterns found in nature. From leaf printing to fiber weaving, each session will encourage observation, curiosity, and imagination, as we create art that celebrates the beauty of our environment. These classes are a joyful invitation to slow down, get inspired by the natural world, and make meaningful art with our hands.
The classes are led by Deqa Abshir, a passionate and experienced art educator with over a decade of experience working with children. Deqa served as the head of art and design at peponi house school for several years, where she nurtured creativity and confidence in young learners. She holds a master’s degree in expressive arts therapy and brings a deep understanding of the power of art in emotional and personal development. Her work with organizations such as sesame street on social emotional learning reflects her commitment to using art as a tool for connection, growth, and wellbeing.
Age group 6-8 (Tuesdays): April 29, May 6, May 13, May 20
Age group 9-12 (Thursdays): April 24, May 8, May 15, May 22
(Please note: no class on May 1st)
Classes run from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and all art supplies are provided.
Cost: ksh 10,000 for all 4 sessions (ksh 2,500 per session)
There are 15 spots available per class-early registration is encouraged!
