Beginner Wool Tapestry Class

14 December @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm

KShs3,000

Have you ever looked at a beautifully woven item and thought, “I wish I could create something like that?” then this class is for you.

Loom weaving is simple to learn and suited for ages 10 and older. In this workshop students will learn basic weaving terminology and techniques and be weaving in no time. You will learn about your loom, how to warp, and you will weave a mini sample which will teach different weaving patterns and allow for exploration with color and texture.

You will be working with soft wool roving from Naivasha Corriedale sheep, which has been naturally dyed into different colors for your designs.

You will also have an opportunity to see the process of preparing wool for crafts – from hand carding to remove sticks and seeds to washing, dying and spinning this amazing sustainable fiber.
